Jim Mitchell

Jim Mitchell is the Vice President of facilities for Centerspace where he leads the capex, maintenance, procurement, and risk management functions.

Jim joined Centerspace in 2018 as the firm was transitioning from owning multiple asset types to becoming the pure multifamily REIT they are today; he brought experience from senior leadership roles at other firms since entering multifamily management in 2005 as he exited the construction industry. Jim started his career in construction as an electrician, carpenter, estimator & project manager.

Jim has his BA in English from the University of Illinois, enjoys gardening and cooking with his wife Susan at their home in Minneapolis, and is an award winning pitmaster on the national competition BBQ circuit.
